Hi again. Did you know that you can check what Google thinks about your website? Read my tip below to get this very useful insight.
As I've said before many times, Google rewards relevancy. It will send traffic to the websites it believes are relevant to the search terms being used by it's customers.
So it's really important for you to be able to check what Google thinks your site is all about. You need to know what keywords it believes matches the content on your site.
It's really easy to do this and I'm surprised more people don't know about this simple trick. Just follow these steps.
1) Go to Google's External Keyword tool
2) Click on the tab called Site-Related Keywords
3) Enter your website address and also tick the box for "Include other other pages on my site linked from this URL"
4) Click on the Get Keywords button.
Google will crawl your site and list all the keywords that it thinks are relevant to your site. This can be quite revealing! If you don't see your main keywords there then you know you have some work to do.
You might find it very useful to repeat this technique on some of your competitors sites to see how they rank with Google. It can sometimes give you good ideas for new keywords of your own (especially for Google Adwords campaigns).
