Simple SEO advice is the key. Too many get to detailed and assume that their audience knows what they are talking about.
Keep it simple

Have just started using Twitter for www.teddybearfriends.co.uk and noticed that Google has just started to include tweets in their search results (may be experimental as it comes and goes) so that would be a good reason to use it now - get ranked on the search engines for your business website. Although how long that rank holds may not be long which could encourage spam to keep a website listed.

OK I am late to this party - been busy writing content for my affiliate marketing websites. And herein lies the problem with a visible date:

You say you can't understand why "anyone" would want to hide the date on a post, but you know, we're not all marketing "website marketing".

You don't always want potential buyers to know that you wrote the product review 12 months ago - it may put them off buying. If the product has not changed, it's no problem that the review is 12 months old, but the potential customer may perceive it to be so. I don't want people judging me on a 12-month-old review that would be the same if I had written it the day before.

Physical products are not the same as services. You need to change the factory to change them.

Regards

I have just signed up to Twitter for our business today and so far we are following about 70 people. I think regular, interesting and on topic tweets will be a great way to boost traffic to our website, so yes I agree, its a great business tool!

Have to agree with what you said about everybody trying to push their message, I've only just signed up fairly recently but have noticed this. Twitter can be great when used effectively, engaging with people rather than just throwing your message out at them. Thanks for the tips. Karl
