Google says Firefox users are the best!

Google along with the Swiss Institute of Technology and IBM recently conducted a study that discovered that amazingly nearly half of the total online population is at risk because their browsers are simply not secure. However Firefox users topped the poll of the safest.
The study showed that 600 million people have not installed the latest security updates to their browsers.
This is leaving the door wide open for Cyber criminals who use websites to attack users.
Browsers manufacturers are frequently patching their browsers to help close these doorways from attack, however people are simply slow or reluctant to apply the patches as they are released.
Firefox users however tend to use the most up-to-date versions. More than 83% of Firefox users were using the latest, most secure browser version.
Unfortunately Internet Explorer users were the slowest to update their browsers with only 47% running on the latest versions.
Of course who can blame them? Microsoft has a record of delivering poor quality patches and so we all wait a bit to see what problems everyone else gets with the latest patch.
Firefox has a much better record and its users have a much greater trust in the stability of the patches and upgrades so it’s no surprise that most will update almost as soon as the update is available.
Hat’s off to Firefox!
